Charming and Cozy Cottage Near the Sea!

Welcome to stay in a family-friendly, sunny cottage with large and generous outdoor areas in the fishing and seafaring village of Heestrand. Here, you will enjoy a peaceful and scenic setting in harmony with hares, deer, and the occasional squirrel. The cottage is surrounded by several spacious terraces in both sun and shade, with the area by the entrance feeling like its own little oasis. The property also features a large lawn, perfect for games and outdoor activities.

Here, you truly have the chance to experience “the good life,” as the sea is just a stone’s throw away, offering saltwater swimming, boating, and walking trails leading to nearby coastal villages with views over the sea’s “motorway,” where thousands of boats pass by during the summer. The cottage’s location is ideal for those who want to explore the magnificent archipelago nearby — feel free to bring your own kayak. The area also offers several beautiful beaches, and you may even buy fresh seafood directly from local fishing boats.

From the driveway, walk across the lawn to the other side of the cottage where the entrance is located. A welcoming hallway leads into the living room, featuring a large dining table, a comfortable sofa area, a wood-burning stove, TV, and patio doors opening onto one of the cottage’s three terrace areas. From the living room, you enter the kitchen, equipped with a stove, separate oven, fridge/freezer, microwave, coffee maker, and dishwasher.

The cottage has three bedrooms: one with two single beds, one with a double bed, and a larger bedroom with a double bed, a reading corner, and double doors opening onto one of the terraces. There is also a bathroom with shower and washing machine, as well as a separate WC.

In the garden, there is an annex with a 140 cm bed. Please note that the entrance door to the annex is lower than standard height (1.45 m).

The cottage has a large plot with plenty of plants and flowers, a lovely spacious lawn, and generous terrace areas furnished with outdoor furniture, sun loungers, and a barbecue. Altogether, this creates wonderful opportunities for relaxing in the sun and enjoying cozy barbecue evenings while discussing the day’s adventures or planning new ones. The cottage also has fiber internet access.

In the neighboring village of Slottet, you will find the remains of an ancient fortress situated on a high mountain with breathtaking panoramic views of the sea and countryside. A perfect destination for a picnic or coffee break. A Viking market is also held there in early August.

Hamburgsund is the largest nearby town and offers charming shops, restaurants, cafés, fishmongers, mini golf, and several excellent swimming spots. Here, you can also rent kayaks, try diving, join boat charters and archipelago tours to experience the stunning coastal scenery, including the old lighthouse station and pilot lookout on the Väderöarna islands. The village also features an outdoor stage, “Scen på Bönn,” hosting various music performances and children’s theatre during the summer.

From Hamburgsund, a car ferry takes you across to the neighboring island of Hamburgö, where you will find more beautiful swimming spots and scenic coastal trails with fantastic views of the surrounding landscape and archipelago islands. The cottage is also ideally located for day trips to charming coastal villages both north and south along the coast.
